CASE STUDY #1 - CUSTOM BREAKFAST NOOK FOR MICHAEL
Michael had a small space next to his kitchen and wanted to make the most of it by adding a breakfast nook beneath the window. After trying several off-the-shelf options that didn’t quite work, he reached out to Crawford Woodworks for a custom solution.
Michael also wanted to incorporate extra storage, so we built drawers into the bench seating. To keep the table base from interfering with seating comfort, we mounted the tabletop using floating brackets secured inside the wall-providing support without obstructing legroom.
By the end of the project, Michael was thrilled with the result. Together, we created a space that’s functional, custom-fit, and a perfect addition to his kitchen.
CASE STUDY #2 - BUILT-IN ENTERTAINMENT CENTER FOR DORA & BERT
Dora and Bert had an outdated entertainment center that was 20–30 years old and no longer met their needs—especially when hosting family. They contacted Crawford Woodworks to help design something new and more functional.
After discussing their goals, we developed a solution that was cleaner, better proportioned, and highly functional. We sized the TV opening precisely—eliminating wasted space—and extended the shelving to the ceiling, giving them more room for their extensive book collection. Bert also needed his printer to be easily accessible, so we built a custom pull-out drawer in the base cabinet for it.
The new unit now blends beautifully into their living space, giving them modern functionality with thoughtful, personalized details.
CASE STUDY #3 - SPANISH REVIVAL BOOK NOOK FOR LAURA
Laura had recently moved into a new home and found one area awkward and visually unbalanced. She wanted to transform it into something more fitting for the space—and more aligned with her Spanish Revival-style home.
She envisioned a reading bench with natural wood elements, some painted features, and curves that echoed the arched doorways in the house. We began by designing a unit with white oak benches and shelving to match her hardwood floors. We also scaled down the curvature of an adjacent room’s arched entryway and repeated that detail at the top of the bookshelves.
To complete the look, we built a soffit above the window to create an even, intentional frame for the entire piece. The result is a warm, inviting space that now feels like it was always meant to be part of the home.
CASE STUDY #4 - SMALL KITCHEN REMODEL FOR ANDREA
Andrea was remodeling a small kitchen and dining area and wanted to create an open, functional space that still had charm and personality. We collaborated with her and her designer to develop a layout that made the most of the limited square footage.
Throughout the remodel, we coordinated closely with her contractors to ensure the walls, cabinets, and finishes came together exactly as envisioned. One special request was to incorporate ceiling beams that matched another room—so we recreated the beam profiles at a slightly smaller scale to suit the proportions of the new space.
In the final stages, it was the smallest detail that really made the space shine: Andrea couldn’t find a floor vent cover she liked for a toe-kick vent, so we designed and recessed a custom wood grill into the toeboard.
Now, Andrea enjoys a thoughtfully designed space that’s both beautiful and uniquely hers.
